Who... A leader in his day. Gandhi.

What... Wanted India to be free of oppressive British rule.

When... long enough ago that we should have learned something from it by now.

Where... India

Why... His belief brought him to an understanding of God that he took his cause to the people and walked with them. It was time to have the British realize they were no longer needed, nor helping.

Bonus: How... he did it by using non-violent methods. Walked to the salt mines with the workers and were beaten by the British. The two then were looked after by the women as the next two stepped forward also to be beaten. The wounded men then went to the back of the line to walk up front and 'take it' again. There was no retaliation from the Indian people.
