Mary Wraps Round

Mary wraps round her child in warming love,
She carries the life that will window our God
Sensing his future has made her heart ache,
How, she knows not, still the feeling is odd.

From countries far away, the wise men come
Bearing gifts that speak of a future come alive.
His life brought change to the living of his day,
Peeking through the eons many changes thrive.

Bright stars and moons that still watch above,
Shine into our hearts so full of joy and tears.
Come memory of love engage us beyond self,
Open us to let this babe reach into our years.

Carry us away in arms, such as hold you now,
Deep in our centre create your living space.
Move us to action as we drink in your love,
Drenching our souls in wonder and grace.

Let bells ring out, sing choirs day and night,
Shout trumpets; dance for new life each morn.
Gather all around; gift each other with peace,
Bear healing laughter, God’s justice to all born.

God’s gift of healing light and grace is given,
Our souls set ablaze; once more love is sealed.
Joy in it; honour it in each action and word,
God’s energy is renewed, again fully revealed!
