Watchful


Are we detached as we work the doings of spirit?
Able to offer gifts and stay free of outcome?
Can we pray, work and ache for so many things, then
Detach self and watch it sink, or fly on to become?

Spirit knows what, where, how, and will wait,
Calling all those who have spirit ears to hear.
Bringing to mind some way to meet and proceed.
Honour hearing and doing unafraid of the fear.

Fearless in following, joyful in doing,
Wait-full in patience, eyes seeing anew.
Spirits engage, recharging spirit fires,
Change, is hard, but brings respect too.

Be watchful, as death beckons sooner, or later,
We know it is waiting, but won’t sit on the shelf.
Called forth to action we seek our friend, silence,
Whose holy quiet sheds power to deepen God-self.
