Driven

Who was it who was driven to the desert so dry?
Who knew his life was to change, and had to know why?
Who was this man, who felt so deeply the love of God?
Driven to decisions so crucial, that it seemed quite odd?

This man, this son, this Jesus, this human ~ so spent
Before the God of his fathers, yet, so utterly present.
Filled with the Spirit, sent to his aid so he could know,
Driven to this relationship so powerful it brought him low.

Driven, yet by his own choice, he showed up for his Life ~
His calling, his joy, his laughter, his grief, his strife.
Fully alive in God, God in him, thus creating a new norm,
His full humanity calls us each to follow this awesome form.

The question becomes for us each day, are we thus, driven
To show up for the daily life-happenings we are given?
We choose to show up each morning, each moment embrace
God’s love; re-born of Spirit; drenched in God’s Grace.
