Prayer for the End of Violence

God you do not dwell within any act of violence!
But you receive it all!

Your tears do not move us it seems,
Do we even hear your cries?

Young and old souls shout silently, loudly – stop!
Those with power choose not to.

God, your still small voice still quietly calls to each.
Will we ever stop our frantic inner-outer wars?

We ask that peace overwhelm and reclaim our souls,
To action we are called!

To march, write, sing, preach, teach and pray.
The end of violence will only bring Peace.

Is that so hard to take? The peace of God?

God we hear your voice - wake us up!
Heal. Change. Forgive. Rebuild.

Reborn!

Ah! Now we can really Live; really Love!
