Seamless

Now, Jesus was a seamless man.
His life reaching out to embrace.
Accepted where the people were,
Yet, challenged them face to face.

His seamless way, not understood,
Caused him to be acclaimed.
To be called healer, teacher, friend,
But, the fearful had him framed.

Who is this seamless man again?

Human, like us, made by the grace of God,
But, one who knew his God as treasure.
Who freely offered his gifts to everyone,
Even to his enemies, well beyond measure.

He lived his life as whole, and complete,
Prayer was huge in the living of his day.
He taught and healed with integrity,
To those who traveled along the way.

His aim, to wake up the truth inside,
Made him both friend and foe.
Yet he followed through on this Call.
His message lives on as we grow.

Seamless means he was fully in balance,
No division within his teaching and giving.
Preaching and healing thus became hallowed,
With no seams, there is wholeness in living.

Know, however, that this seamless living,
Will not be easier now than in Jesus day.
Love’s power comes from a different place,
Where force doesn’t exist, nor owns sway.

Loving enemies means offering them hope,
Which is not in war, in poverty, or greed.
God is as hungry and abused as the least,
Calling us to work together to end all need.

Yes, we too are called to seamless living!
As we are woven in our own time and place,
Called to seeking wholeness for all Creation.
