God Walks Our Streets
God walks down our streets late at night
Sees the loneliness laying in the dark.
Two feet with a body blanket wrapped,
Huddled afraid, alone, in a people’s park.
Some afraid to come in, some afraid to go out,
Misunderstood, unwanted, too long ago to try.
Society whose work it is to protect ~ do not!
God’s heart aches as we wait for others to pass by.
Many excuses for the ‘do nothingness’ of life,
It says in our Holy book that ‘poor’ is a fact.
Yet, poor in spirit make us poor in other ways,
Our living God’s love transforms us to act!
Strange the feelings of heart and soul that live,
Breathing in and out our days not able to see.
Who are we kidding, we see, but would rather not,
God still loves us, I do wonder how, but we are free.
In love we are free! Now is that curse, or heaven?
Only we choose which, for God resides in each soul.
Walk with God the streets that lead to the unknown,
Be ready for anything, yet, surprised and made whole.

How true. God does walk our streets, and we refuse to even look God's way, or at least I do sometimes.
