Had Enough?

I’ve had enough of the din, have you?
Of noises of false needs and wants?
Where are the human faces undone
By our need for owning ~ it haunts?

We must own, spend and get .. More!
We’ve crashed the climate for gain,
For gadgetry to make life so easy.
Easy for the ‘able’, who’ve no pain.

Corporate greed so often exploits,
Workers are treated as slaves, bound.
Where are those who say they’ve a God
Of justice and love, I hear little sound?

Far away, gagged, and silently used,
Children stolen, alone, slave in fields.
Abuse abounds all around this world,
They work hidden, for better yields.

Each society is known by how it treats
The weak and vulnerable of any age.
How, do we fare in light of this call?
Refusal to act screams off the page.

So where is our God now in all of this?
Abused and hidden, bound, gagged,
Lashed by the forces we’ve created,
Dying sprayed as bananas are bagged.

WAKE UP! People who claim God’s love!
Stand up, and shout how this is wrong!
Stop buying products grown by death,
Look up, shout out, live out love’s song.

We are called by name, as friends of God,
Spirit breath, birth us again so we hear.
Born this side of earth is pure accident,
No claim to fame in that for us here.

So, arrogant power-mongers stop! Now!
Are you so confined in thoughts of gain
That people become nothing at all?
Foolish pride will also bring you pain.

Loving creation calls for extremes now,
Turn around priorities to thinking whole.
We can and will create a new exchange,
Bring to life our collective eternal soul.
