Greetings!

To ask God to wrap the world in love and all that goes with that, requires our involvement. Prayer is always a two-way street. We can't plop it all back to God and leave it for Her. Our faith and teaching and following Jesus tells us we are involved as soon as we accept that God is the One who we worship. Jesus also did the same....and lived fully.

Prayer is us in action, God being a verb calls us into doing because we are called to be living out what we say we believe. It is not an easy thing, but nothing good is ever easy. No fence sitting is possible really, as God builds no fences, they are created by us. Fences are not the same as sabbath, where one meets in God, in whatever way you do that, in order to gain strength and healing for the journeying we do. We need places for rest and renewal, healing, and thinking out things and planning how, why, etc. we are here, and doing this. And simply peaceful rest.

Fences are about being untouched, unscathed, neutral, not feeling the pain of any side. Just watching distantly uninvolved. It could be we cannot decide what to do. However, we are called to move beyond being afraid...which is what sitting watching is often about, as well as voyeurism for some who enjoy what is happening, but refuse to get involved.

Some still say God is dead. Comments on the CBC yesterday about the Roman Catholics making overtures to Anglicans called out these words again..slight paraphrase... 'God died ages ago, right? Didn't anyone read the obituary?' Now, is that hiding? Or is it we have acted that it it isn't seen who we really are? It is mixed, of course. I wonder about Christians at times who called for ungodly actions, and still do today.

You would have to hide, for 'fence sitting' is offensive to many, and some might drag you off it, knowing everyone who is not part of the solution is still part of the problem. Is that not what porn is, abuse is, ...people watching the dregradation and leaving it there, leaving victims who are vulnerable, in that place?
Other crimes are left alone for fear of, what? Getting involved is a concern, but, love offers the strength to turn it, and us around. We teach that...right?

I wonder, if we are so afraid to live, do we not die in the process of avoiding life? I think I'd rather die living fully in the process of the journey, than avoiding it and dying from falling off the fence, asleep. What would be missed? Life itself, I think.

God wrap us up in your doing and loving and serving...we belong to you...! And so do the ones who fall because we left potholes, too often knowingly. Thus we are connected to what happens ahead of us.

Society is always connected to our living now, and to what will come, because of what we chose to leave undone.

Blessings of Shalom...

Wrap It Up, God!

God could you just wrap up the earth?
Wrap anger, hate against human souls.
The question that you are likely dead,
Spills its own hunger into empty bowls.

The effect they can't envision as real,
Power kisses itself sucking life away.
Leaving traces of hate, a creepy crawl
Sunk far too long, roots trip up the way.

Wrap us up, as only You can, in Your love,
Wake in us the rhythm of loving rhyme.
Wrap racism into God's colour blindness,
Wrap actions so alive to transform mime.

In our wrapping ... may our living reveal You!
In the healing of rifts ... learn peace is real.
In sharing food & water ... know it is a gift.
Such journeying is within the Rainbow's seal!
